With 15 years of photographic experience Vancouver, Washington based photographer Randy Hopfer has many photographic experiences ranging from action, nature and wildlife, as well as pet and people portraits.
Randy's work has been published in Alaska Railroads "On Board" magazine, the "Cascade Horseman" and the Velo News "1998 Mountain Bike Superguide". As well Randy's photography has been used in advertising by local organizations in print and on the web.
Over the last 10 years Randy has shown his photography at the largest and most prestigious art shows in the Pacific Northwest.
As well in 2005-2007 Randy was invited to show his work at the Wildlife Conservation Network Expo in Los Altos, California. The WCN supports on the ground conservation for some of the the most endangered species in the world. At the 2005 event the key note speaker was Dr. Jane Goodall; she and many of the most active animal conservationists speak at this expo each year. In 1997 Randy started making color prints in the darkroom with his wildlife and mountain bike racing photography. Today he offers digitally processed prints on photo paper or canvas. He matts and frames his own prints and stretches and frames his canvas art. As well for over 8 year Randy has worked on and perfected a process for creating art on tile. All of Randy's photography including any work he does in a portrait session can be purchased on photo paper or canvas, as well as ceramic and glass tile.
Currently Randy is working in conjunction with artist
Cheri Freund to create a 12 foot by 40 foot porcelain tile mural that will be installed the Fall of 2011 on a new building for the University of Nebraska - College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, Nebraska. The mural is part of a public art project with the University. As well Randy is working with the dean to support the college with a fundraising effort using Randy's tile art and design capabilities.
As well as being an avid photographer Randy has a passion for animals. He has three dogs, Sadie a German Shorthair, and two Great Danes, Bailey and Bella. Here are some photos of our girls...
